What does Failed; 5.1.1 (bad destination mailbox address) mean? Print

If you receive an email from postmaster with the error message:

Failed; 5.1.1 (bad destination mailbox address)


This means that a message was sent from your address to an email address which does not exist.

If you send the message quoted in the email, then check the address before sending again.

If you did not send the message quoted in the mail, then another person may have sent the message using your address in the 'from' field.

    • According to KSN data, Kaspersky Lab products detected and neutralized 1 345 570 352 threats in Q1 2013.
